Med School Lately
Tuesday, 26 August 2014

I’ve been getting a few questions about what life in med school is like and since I just went through another manic exam day, I figured, why not finally give an answer.

There are times when I am exhausted, when I just want to throw out all my transes and sleep the entire weekend away. Sometimes, something tells me that I’m probably better off somewhere else, and some days, life gives me seemingly enough reasons to believe it.

But each time that I have these bouts of uncertainty and doubt, I shake them off like the meaningless things that they are, brought forth by no less than my own laziness. Because at the end of the day, what I go through are all within the bounds of what I signed up for the moment I decided that a life in medicine was a go. And even when they no longer are, I accept them all the same, because they are the very things that are meant to mold me; the kind of doctor that I will become in the future is tantamount to how I respond to them. And I intend to rise above them.
