ASMPH Football Team, Palarong Medisina 2015
Monday, 9 March 2015
I've no words for what kind of person I am given this context. I've been busy with so many things and with Death March already making its existence very much felt, it's a wonder how I even have time to do this. But I think I had to, because any time later than now makes this post less and less relevant. So here it is.
I have no idea what came over me one day when I asked my friend who's also the captain of the women's football team to enlist me as their team manager. More than that, I have no idea what came over her when she agreed to it. After all, my one and only experience with football goes back to freshman year in college when I took up futsal as my PE owing largely to the fact that I enrolled late and had no choice other than swimming, an idea which I probably resented more than futsal. Maybe somehow, the whole thing was rooted on how I wanted to be more active during YL6. I don't know. Anyway, it's been a good and long journey ever since -- we've had to work together to re-brand the team, what with a new logo and all, and also come up with this year's jersey design. And it finally culminated in Palarong Med, where my managerial duties revolved around keeping track of schedules and game results, acting as their nanny (yeaaahh -_-), and sidelining as their photographer. (My friend really wanted a lot of action shots.)
But never mind me. Really, this is about them and how they are all so wonderfully talented and in love with a sport I hardly understand.
So, overworked vocals and horrendous tan lines aside, I'm happy I got to spend Palarong Med with these people. Easily two of the most dedicated teams out there, and definitely the two which make me proudest! One big fight, girls and boys!

Looks like a lot of fun although a bit stressful at first!:D
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, it's one of the things we do to destress from all the school work. Haha
DeleteEven if you didn't know what you were getting yourself into, I think you did a great job as the team manager in the photography department. Your really captured the motion and emotion of the game :)
